Directions for top:
1. Cut off the cuffs from the sleeves and lower edge of sweatshirt top.
2. Stitch or glue the jumbo rick rack to the sleeve edges and lower edge
of sweatshirt top.
3. Cut 3 12 lengths from ribbon.
Hold 1 color of each together and make 3 bows.
Glue pom
pom to center of bow. Glue or
stitch to front of sweatshirt.
4. Use fabric paint to make stars, swirls, and dots or your own design on
shirt.
Directions for pants:
1. Cut off lower edge of pants and stitch or glue jumbo rick rack to the
bottom edge.
2. Stitch or glue the medium rick rack ½ above the edge of the jumbo
rick rack and the
baby rick rack ½ above the medium, creating 3 rows
of rick rack.
3. Cut 2 12 lengths from ribbons and make bows with pom pom
centers. Glue or
stitch to pant legs at bottom edge.
4. Decorate pants with fabric paint.
Hat
Materials:
2 12X12 pieces of white felt
1 12X4 piece of black felt
3-2/3 yds. each 1/8 double face satin in black and pink
Medium and jumbo rick rack
Pink fabric paint
3 pink pom poms
6 yellow pom poms
3 chenille stems
Directions:
1. Cut white felt into 2 triangles measuring 12 across bottom edge and
up 12 to top
point. Slightly
curve while cutting out the hat pattern from top of hat to bottom.
2. Cut out mask piece from black fabric using photo as a guide. Position mask to fit
across front of hat 1 from bottom edge.
Glue in place.
3. With right sides together, stitch hat pieces.
Turn right side out.
4. Glue or stitch jumbo rick rack to lower edge of hat.
5. Glue medium rick rack along outer edge of mask.
6. Make several bows with 1/8 ribbon and glue to top point of hat. Glue pom pom to
center.
7. Make streamers from remaining ribbons and glue to sides of hat. Glue pom poms to
streamers.
8. Bend chenille stems in half and glue to hat over bridge of nose forming
antenna. Glue
remaining pom poms to ends of chenille stems to finish.
