  • 1 1/2 yds. - 5/8" wide Offray Wire-Edge Ribbon (flower)

  • 6 1/2" x 14" piece of Fusible Interfacing
  • 1 1/2" Pin Back
  • Glue
  • Straight Pins

  • DIRECTIONS:

    1. WEAVING: Cut six 14" lengths and thirteen 6 1/2" lengths from 7/8" wide wire-edge ombre. Place fusible interfacing, fusible side up on a pinnable work surface. Place long lengths of ribbons on interfacing butting edges and pinning at one end of ribbons. Weave short lengths one over, one under long lengths, pinning ends in place. Fuse ribbons to interfacing follow manufacturer's instructions for fusing.

    2. To assemble bag, remove pins and trim ribbons even with interfacing. Stitch ends of ribbon to interfacing all the way around the rectangular piece. Fold in half, right sides together and stitch bag together along two sides. Turn bag right side out. Fold in top edge and stitch.

    3. RUFFLE: Using 24" length of 1 1/2" wire-edge ribbon, gather by gently pulling wire along one edge from both ends and adjust gathers to fit inside top edge of bag. Glue ends together. Glue or stitch to inside top edge.

    4. FLOWER PIN: For rose, cut 1 yd. from 5/8" wide flower ribbon. Make a knot at one end, and pull wire to gather at other end. Hold knotted end as center of flower and spiral gathered ribbon around this center to create flower. Fold raw edge down and wrap wire around knot, cut off excess wire. For leaves, cut leaf ribbon into four equal lengths, pull wire to gather at each end, fold ribbon in half and wire ends together. Glue to rsoe. Make bow form extra ribbon. Glue rose to bow, next glue to pin back. Pin to bag.
