1. Follow Manufacturer's directions to apply fusible web
to back of flesh color fabric, fuse fabric to both sides of
the poster board
2. TRACE OR PRINT THE PATTERN AT
THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE. Use sharp scissors to cut out figure
and head, glue head onto body.
3. Use the graphite paper to transfer the facial features
to the angel's head.
a) Paint the eylids a soft pink or mauve color (very
lightly).
b) The pupil (the very most center of the eye) is painted
black.
c) The iris (the colored area which surrounds the pupil) may
be painted blue, blue/green, or brown.
d) Add white to the area outside the iris, and a pin-dot
size of white on the right side of the pupil
e)Paint the top lid (not the top of the eyelid) with a very
thin black line.
f) Paint the lips a soft rose, peach or pink.
g)Outline the lower area of the eye, the eyebrows and nose,
as well as the middle of the lip with the brown felt-tip
pen. Use a very light touch.
h) Use the cotton swab to apply a little bit of blush to the
cheeks.
4. For hair, measure from the center of the top of the
angel's head to the waist and double the measurement. Cut a
piece of poster board to fit this measurement (for example,
10" might be adequate). Wrap the yarn or fiber around the
poster board several times or until you think you have
enough hair.
5. Remove the yarn from the poster board. Cut a strand
sbout 6" long and tie the strand tightly around the middle
of the fibers. Cut the looped ends of the hair and glue the
hair on the head with knot at center of head. Trim the ends
of the yarn if needed.
1. Fold 1 (one) 18" lengths of ribbon in half and place
the fold over the angel's left shoulder. The bottom edge of
the ribbon will flow toward the right side of the angel's
feet. Take the ribbon to both the front and back side of the
angel's waist with a small amount of glue (Fig 1.). Repeat
this procedure for the right shoulder using another ribbon.
2. Repeat with remaining ribbons. When they are in place,
pull the ribbons down from the shoulders to reveal first two
ribbons. Tack in place with a small bit of glue.
3. Tie a 10" piece of ribbon around the angel's waist,
using a square knot. Trim the ends at- 45 degree angle and
fray the ends if you wish.
4. Make wings from remaining ribbon by forming a double bow
which is about 5" wide. Wire center of bow. Glue the bow to
the back of the angel's body, about 1/2" below the base of
her neck.
5. Glue a scrap of 1/4" wide ribbon or cording around the
angel's head to make a halo.
6. To hang the angel from your tree, thread a darning needle
with the 1/16" ribbon and insert the needle into the hair
fiber on the back of the doll's head. Leave a 3" tail on
both ends of the ribbon, and tie the ends into a knot.
