MATERIALS:
|
13 yards of 1 1/2" wide Offray
wire edge Ombre ribbon
Clear drying glue
Frame
|
|
1. Cut 13 yards of ribbon in half (two 6 1/2 yard
pieces). Roll up so you can easily wrap from top to bottom
smoothly.
2. Starting at the top of the frame, fold 1/2" end of ribbon over the
frame and secure by gluing or stitching to itself.
3. Holding frame securely, wrap ribbon tightly from the top down the
inside of the frame =, around and back up the outside of the frame to
the top in one direction. (as smoothly as possible) so that the
ribbon overlaps itself evenly.
If you are using a ribbon that is shaded (ombre), you must turn the
ribbon when you are in the inside of the frame each time you come
down. By doing this, you will change the color of the hues. If you do
not turn the ribbon, the color will be all one shade. If you want a
solid look, do not turn the ribbon as you are wrapping.
4. At the end of the ribbon, come down the inside and glue or stitch
the ribbon end to itself.
5. Complete lampshade with rest of the ribbon; beginning at the top,
fold over and glue to secure, completely covering the rest of the
frame. When the frame is covered, end inside the frame, fastening
with pin to keep taut. cut excess ribbon and glue or stitch to
itself.
