MATERIALS FOR FANCY RIBBON ROSE

  • Each rose requires one yard of #40 (1- 3/4")
    or 18" #9 (1- 1/2") wide merrowed ribbon.

  • DIRECTIONS:

    1. Cut merrowed ribbon to length needed. Make a knot in one end; pull snugly towards end to secure. Hold ribbon at opposite end and poke out the wires from both sides of the ribbon. Fold ribbon in half lengthwise and push sides of the ribbon down the length of the wire towards the knot, forming a tight gathered ruffle. Try to keep both layers of ribbon together as one.

    2. Begin to form the rose by holding the knot and rolling it about 1- 1/2 turns along the gathered edge to form a bud.

    3. ontinue wrapping the ruffled ribbon around the bud to form the rose in the desired look. When wrapped loosely, you create an open rose effect or when wrapped tightly, you create a closed rose. Secure the wire ends around the knot; cut wire end off.

    LEAF:
