1. Cut merrowed ribbon to length needed. Make
a knot in one end; pull snugly towards end to secure. Hold
ribbon at opposite end and poke out the wires from both
sides of the ribbon. Fold ribbon in half lengthwise and push
sides of the ribbon down the length of the wire towards the
knot, forming a tight gathered ruffle. Try to keep both
layers of ribbon together as one.

2. Begin to form the rose by holding the knot
and rolling it about 1- 1/2 turns along the gathered edge to
form a bud.

3. ontinue wrapping the ruffled ribbon around
the bud to form the rose in the desired look. When wrapped
loosely, you create an open rose effect or when wrapped
tightly, you create a closed rose. Secure the wire ends
around the knot; cut wire end off.

4. Cut a 7" strip of ribbon #9 (1- 1/2") wide
or wider. Make a knot in one end; pull snugly towards end.
At opposite end, poke out wire and gather length down to
meet knot. Fold ribbon in half crosswise. Roll ribbon down
to meet knot.

5. Wrap wire around ribbon end and knot a few
times to secure. If desired, glue gathered edges together
and shape points or edges.

Make a Fancy Rose barrette or pin::
Fold 5" scraps of ribbon into thirds to form a base. Glue
rose and leaves into place: glue barrette or pin back to
base.
